Today is Liberation Day in Holland. On this day we celebrate the end of World War II in 1945. Although some parts of Holland where already liberated in September 1944, my city also.
In September 2009 it was 65th anniversary of this event. There was a big memorial service and a parade with old WWII cars, truck and tanks. And also with many American, British and Canadian WWII veterans. Many people watched the parade and applauded for the veterans. And for sure they enjoyed it very much.
I have made many pictures that. Below are 2 pics that I like very much.
This picture was taken in a forest close to my city. The big tree is one of the biggest sweet chestnut tree in the Netherlands. This part of of the forest is very nice. And with the right light it can look very magical.
I took the picture in 2002, but gave it a make over in Lightroom 4 to make it a bit more dramatic. The original image looked very flat and not so interesting.
These days lots of personal information is stored on a hard disk. In your computer at home but also on computers on other places of the world. For example on computers owned by Facebook, Google and many others. So it is important to make sure your data is stored safely.
I used that as a theme for some pictures. This one is my favorite.
